5 parked cars reduced to ashes in blaze

As many as five cars were reduced to ashes and one was partially damaged in a fire mishap at the Town Hall premises in Paralakhemundi town on Sunday night.

 

Fire Brigade personnel rushed to the spot, but by that time the damage was done as the blaze spread from one car to another.

The car owners had parked the vehicles near the Town Hall at Market Square for security reasons. Earlier the Town Hall was fenced and had gates not to allow parking of any vehicles. But later the tourists who availed accommodation at the nearby hotels were allowed to park their vehicles in the Town Hall premises.

 

Locals have demanded that the Paralakhemundi Municipality take preventive measures to ensure that such incident doesn’t reoccur.
