AAP announces 40 more candidates

Friday, 28 January 2022 | PNS | Lucknow

Aam Aadmi Party issued the fourth list containing 40 candidates that includes a doctor, a PhD scholar, five law graduates and 13 graduates.

AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh tweeted the list. As of now the AAP has announced 243 party candidates from different constituencies of Uttar Pradesh.

UP AAP president Sabhajeet Singh said that the party was giving preference to educated and Other Backward Class candidates in the election.

"People are angry with the previous governments and the incumbent ruling party as they did nothing except making tall claims. Our party workers would meet people and tell them about AAP’s Delhi model of governance and development works carried out by the Kejriwal government in the last five years. They will also tell the voters about the ‘Kejriwal guarantee scheme,” Singh said.

The AAP leader further said that the party was fielding educated people to project a clean image amid the hot debate on inclusion of candidates with shady antecedents by rival political parties.

“Our poll plank is to highlight the Kejriwal model of governance instead of manipulating castes, splurging money and showing off muscle power,” he said.

Meanwhile, hitting out at the Bharatiya Janata party government for trying to politicise Pakistan and MA Jinnah to reap electoral benefits, Singh referred to the comments made by several BJP leaders against Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav. The AAP leader said that he agreed with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that Pakistan was India’s enemy number one and therefore, even Narendra Modi should not have made an unscheduled and uninvited stop at Pakistan soon after becoming prime minister.
