Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday demanded a proper investigation into an unauthorised encroachment of land in Karol Bagh allegedly by Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta.
Leader of the Opposition in north Corporation Vikas Goel spoke out against the corruption at the house meeting held at the civic center. Goel brought up the matter of Adesh Gupta's unauthorised encroachment of land in Karol Bagh. He sought discussion on the issue in the house, but the BJP leadership refused to allow the discussion to take place.
Goel stated, "Adesh Gupta has illegally appropriated the corporation's land. There was a school of MCD in front of Adesh Gupta's house where he carried out illegal construction work. Even the High Court had issued a notice to Adesh Gupta for illegal construction. Gupta, on the other hand, has remained silent on the subject. There has also been no investigation or action taken against him."
He further said, "The BJP officials in power in the corporation have sensed their impending defeat in the upcoming elections and have begun seizing the corporation's lands as well as engaging in corruption by selling the company's properties at low rates.”
