Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday called for adapting scientific techniques to revive rivers and rivulets across the state under ‘Narva’ scheme.
He was speaking at a meeting of the Narva Development Scheme here.
The increase in ground and surface water level should also be monitored by aerial survey and remote sensing satellite should be used for this, he said.
Baghel also told the officials to analyze the decrease in soil erosion due to Narva treatment.
Due to treatment of drains in villages across the state under Narva, Garua, Ghurva and Bari scheme, the ground water level in wells and tube wells had gone up considerably, he said.
The meeting was told that treatment of 6,395 drains were underway while work for 2,800 had been completed in three-and-a-half years.
