Addl CS directs DCs to speed up Covid testing, screening

With the spike in corona cases along with rise in active cases, State Additional Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Singh has issued fresh directives to Deputy Commissioners in State, issuing the SOP to be followed while dealing with the pandemic. The Additional Chief Secretary (Health) has directed the Deputy Commissioners to make proper arrangements regarding the control of Covid and to deal with the situation.

 

The Chief Secretary in his letter has mentioned that in the last few days, cases of coronavirus have increased in Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu apart from Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the pace of infection has increased in Jharkhand, especially in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, East Singhbhum and Deoghar.

 

The letter also mentions a rise in coronavirus cases, from June 3 to 9, there were only 38 active cases in the State, while from June 10 to 16, it increased to 76, while from June 17 to 23, it has reached 146. Now the number of active cases is close to 300 from June 24 to 30. In the issued instructions, it has been asked to speed up testing and improve health facilities in all districts. Proper monitoring of those who get infected with Covid has been asked. According to the letter issued by Arun Kumar Singh, the Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to start screening as well as tracing and testing of people suspected with Covid-19. Apart from this, it has been said to make all the arrangements for isolation as soon as possible.

 

Oxygen supported beds, PSA plants, ventilators, oxygen cylinders etc. have been asked to be kept ready in all the districts. Along with ventilators etc., instructions have been given to ensure availability of emergency medicine and check whether oxygen cylinders and concentrators are functional or not.

 

Every patient coming to the hospital who has fever or any kind of infection has been instructed to monitor them and get Covid test done. At the same time, the Additional Chief Secretary has instructed DCs to submit the report to the Directorate of Medicines by conducting mock drills for the PSA plant with technicians and other hospital workers, besides training of health workers, supply of equipment and annual maintenance of all types of contracts in all the districts.
