The Aishbagh police have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered Nitrazepam and Nitravet -10 tablets from their possession; the accused were nabbed near Morarji Nagar railway tracks on Sunday.
The police claimed that the three were roaming to sell the tablets which are used for addiction and hallucination. From their possession 48 tablets have been recovered.
Acting on a tip off a team was rushed to the spot and nabbed the three accused who were identified as Azeem alias Nazim (20) and Kasim alias Naati (25) both of Morarji Nagar and Shoaib alias Golu (32) of Indra Sahayta Nagar.
During the investigation when the three were frisked two packets each of 15 tablets were found from Azeem and Kasim.From Shoaib a packet carrying 17 tablets and another packet with 18 tablets was found.
Police found that the three are involved in drug peddling and are habitual drug addicts. The three have been booked for various crimes in the past by different police stations of the state capital.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 328 of the IPC and section 5 and 13 of MP Drugs (Control) Act. 1949.
The drug peddler used to sell drugs in small quantities which helped him to evade suspicion and arrest.
The source from where the accused brings the tablets and where they dispose is under investigation. The accused used to find the retail customers by bringing drugs at cheap prices and selling it in small quantities.
