The 47th annual function of the Orissa Association for the Blind along with 213th birth anniversary of Mahatama Louis Braille was celebrated here on Wednesday being presided over by association president Sanyasi Behera.
Guests CII Odisha chapter head Suparna Nanda, Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, State Housing Board Chairman Priyadarshi Mishra, former State Disability Commission Chairperson Kasturi Mohapatra. Sarswati Sangeeta Kala Parishad chairperson Prativa Satpathy and senior advocate Sangram Mishra exhorted people to come forward for an overall development of people with blindness.
The qualified participants of different competitions were felicitated.
The meeting started with a welcome song by blind students and guest introduction by association vice-president Jaffar Iqbal, followed by annual report presentation by general secretary Sharat Dash. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by treasurers Sheikh Kalapahad.
