A couple was killed in a road mishap on Monday morning near Sarandapali village in Bargarh district. Following the incident, police detained the driver of the car.
Ganesh Ram Sahu from Kesheipali village and his wife Santoshini were on their way towards Parthalla village by a motorcycle. In the meantime, a car coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle.
The impact of the collision was so severe that Ram and wife Sahu were thrown away in different directions. While Ram died on the spot, Sahu succumbed to her injuries on the way to hospital.
The Barpali police have detained a businessman Rahul Goel, who was driving the car. A case has been registered and the bodies were sent for postmortem.
