Arupa Patnaik, daughter of former banker Sanjay Patnaik of Baripada, has won the prestigious Sustainable Business Award-2022 in New Delhi.
For her commendable role in promoting the Sabai grass industry and technology in this region, she on Saturday was rewarded with this honour by Amritam, a reputed social organisation working for India's sustainable future for the last few years.
Arupa, a former CEO of ORMAS and coordinator of Fab India, has, for quite some time, been working for the social and economic uplift of the poor weavers and artisans of Mayurbhanj. She is dedicated to the cause of promotion of handloom and handicrafts.
Now that Arupa has won an award at the national level in recognition of her laudable work, she has, through this, brought glory to the whole of Mayurbhanj and Odisha, artisans here say.
