BJP govt did nothing as promised in 100 days: RLD

Wednesday, 06 July 2022 | PNS | Lucknow

Rashtriya Lok Dal’s national general secretary Trilok Tyagi said on Tuesday that the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh did nothing as promised in the first 100 days. He termed the success claims of state government as a lies.

“The state government is yet to clear the arrears of sugarcane growers. The state government has failed in bringing the farmers relief from stray animals’ menace even as law and order has deteriorared,” Tyagi said.

He said stray animals had caused the farmers to face losses due to crop damage, but the government was looking away. “There has been a spate in incidents of murder, loot, rape and dacoity in UP. It can be said that the system (order) has been destroyed completely in UP,” he commented.

Tyagi said the state government overlooed the law while implementing its bulldozer policy in UP. “The state government has also forgotten its promise to halve the electricity bills,” he said.

With a tongue-in-cheek remark, Tyagi also flayed the Union government and said the PM helped Adani double his profit during the Covid period and now the PM was promoting sale of coal in which Adani deals. “Now, he has implemented the Agnipath scheme for short-term recruitment in the armed forces,” he said.

About the growing role of the Enforcement Directorate in the present scenario, the RLD leader said the BJP government had weaponised the ED to use it against its political opponents. “The ED’s raids/interference have increased since the BJP came to power. They are using it as a weapon to settle scores with their political rivals. The PM has erred in thinking that it will keep the opposition in his grip and democracy will fail,” Tyagi said, adding that the opposition would continue to struggle for the people.

“Our chief Jayant Chaudhary has been holding ‘Yuva Panchayats’ since June 28 as a mark of protest against ‘Agnipath’. RLD is fighting for the poor, Dalits, farmers, labourers/workers, youth and people belonging to the downtrodden class of society and will continue to fight for them,” he said. Senior RLD leaders Anil Dubey, state president Ramashish Rai, SN Trivedi and several others were present on the occasion.
