BJP raps AAP for burning garbage-filled effigies

Thursday, 06 October 2022 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Lambasting the ruling AAP Government over the burning of the garbage-filled effigies at 3,500 locations across the national Capital, the Leader of Opposition of Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri decided to file a complaint with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in this matter. He also appealed the Lieutenant Governor to order registering of cases against AAP leaders for polluting the national Capital.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP on Wednesday burnt effigies of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia, a symbol of corruption on the occasion of Vijay Dashami at Jantar Mantar. Bidhuri said that after the implementation of the Graded Action Response Plan (GRAP) to fight air pollution, in the Capital, there is a ban on the burning of garbage, but on October 4, the AAP leaders burnt garbage at 3,500 places.

Bidhuri alleged that due to burning of garbage by AAP workers all day on October 4, the pollution level of Delhi increased to a severe stage on October 5 and there was a blanket of smoke in the morning. “However, at 10 in the morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the capital reached 195, very near the poor category.

Not only this, it has reached 396 points in Anand Vihar and in the rest of Delhi including Alipur, Ashok Vihar, ITO, Jahangirpuri, Dwarka, Nehru Nagar, Patparganj, Vivek Vihar, Pusa, R.K. Puram, Shadipur and Wazirpur the AQI was recorded more than 200 points respectively,” he said. Bidhuri further decided to file a complaint with the NGT in this matter and said that not only AAP should be fined heavily for burning garbage at 3500 places, but a case should also be registered against its leaders. The Kejriwal government has completely failed in the fight against pollution in Delhi and now it itself is openly doing pollution-increasing activities.

Meanwhile, under the leadership of state BJP president Adesh Gupta, thousands of party workers staged a fierce protest against the alleged corruption being done by Kejriwal and Sisodia, by burning their effigies at Jantar Mantar today,

Speaking at the protest, Gupta said that only Kejriwal has the dictionary to discover new ways of corruption and during his tenure so far, his government and his leaders have done nothing except corruption.

Gupta said that if subsidy has to be given to the people of the capital, then the government should give it directly into the account of consumers and end the shoplifting of filling your pockets by sitting your broker in the form of power companies in the middle. “On Vijayadashami, the people of Delhi have taken a pledge that today only the effigy of Kejriwal, who took the commission in the power subsidy, is being burnt, but the day is not far when the residents of the capital are also going to do the work of throwing him out of power,” Gupta concluded.
