Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has in written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal and urged him to intervene in the decision announced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about placing photographs of only Baba Saheb Bheem Rao Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh in government offices.
The BJP leader in the letter said “We have no objection towards placing photographs of Ambedkar or Bhagat Singh but placing photographs of Mahatma Gandhi and other constitutional heads etc is also morally important.”
Several political parties have their offices in Delhi secretariat and assembly premises and naturally photographs of their leaders may be placed in those offices but the decision to restrict government offices to place photographs of any national leaders other than the two, may be amended, he added.
Kapoor said Delhi's ruling party is contesting Punjab elections and CM Kejriwal's attention seems to be effort to influence voters of Punjab as Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh vastly influence Dalit and others voters.
