A Blood donation camp was organised here on Saturday to remember Dr Rajendra Prasad on his 138th birth anniversary. The camp organised at Rajendra Park by Rising Charitable Society (RCS) was inaugurated by CISF DIG Vinay Kajle.
The DIG first paid floral tributes to the first president of independent India. Later he inaugurated the blood donation camp where 100 persons including 10 females donated blood to mark the occasion.
The Chief Guest recalled the works done by Rajendra babu and hailed the RCS for remembering him in a different manner. A Bhutani citizen, Tenzin Jamatos, who was in Dhanbad to attend marriage of an Indian family friend, also donated blood.
Talking to media he said, it was good to see people’s participation in the camp thus was inspired and donated blood. It would certainly help in saving someone’s life here.
Former MLA Arup Chatterjee, former mayor Chandrasekhar Agarwal, former BIADA chairman Bijay Jha, Dhanbad Bar association president AK Sahay, JMM leader Amitesh Sahay, BJP district president CS Singh, besides prominent persons of society also graced the occasion. Members of the society too were present during the camp.
