Two days after an ill-fated boat ferrying 32 persons capsized in Banda district, eight more bodies were recovered on Saturday, taking the death-toll to 11.
The bodies were recovered from different stretches of river Yamuna between Asotha and Kishanpur areas falling in Fatehpur district.
The police said, “Eight more bodies have been recovered in the border district Fathepur, taking the death-toll to 11. Seventeen persons were found alive after the boat capsized and four persons are still missing. Massive search operations are still going on in the downstream river near Dadu Ghat of the district along with neighbouring districts also.
Some of the bodies have been identified as of Raju, Ramprasad, Ajoriya, Jhullu and Maya Devi while three are yet to be identified. All victims belong to Fathepur district barring one.
The locals still claim that there were over 50 persons in the boat.
The capsized boat is yet to be traced.
