Countering the allegations of the BJP on the PM Housing Scheme and Nal Jal Yojana, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said provisions had been made in the budget to construct houses for the poor.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued new guidelines on loans. So, the loans have to be taken based on repayment. Accordingly, the budgetary provision has been made.
The BJP should speak about the status of construction of PMAY houses in Assam, Madhya Pradesh and other BJP-ruled states. The party should review its own 15 years performance in Chhattisgarh before comparing three years of the Congress government, he said.
Before leaving for Balod and Charama, Baghel told the media that the Congress government had had to battle right from the beginning the highest number of cases of malnutrition, anemic women, illiteracy and poverty in the state.
Also, this government has faced two years of Covid-19 pandemic.
On Nal Jal Yojana, he said, the work is in progress and already 13 lakh water connections have been given. The BJP has no moral ground to seek progress reports.
On the demand of BJP for a judicial probe on the death of Veerbhadra Singh Deo, Baghel said if the family members demand, the probe will be ordered. “I had telephonic talks with T.S. Singh Deo on the issue on Friday. He has not raised any doubt over the accidental death."
Veerbhadra Singh Deo is a relative of Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo. He was Vice president of Janpad Panchayat Lundra. His body was found on one side of the railway track between Salka and Belgahna stations on the Bilaspur-Ambikapur route on Friday.
He was travelling to Ambikapur by the Durg-Ambikapur Express train on Thursday. Police are investigating.
