A speeding car on Friday crushed two minor boys to death in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district.
Manoj Gond (10) and Raju Gond (9) were both from Mahuda village in Janjgir-Champa district, Korba Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel said.
The incident took place in Uchbhatti village when a car being driven at high speed from Champa towards Korba killed them, the officer said. The police launched a hunt for the killer driver.
Angry residents blocked the Janjgir-Korba road for an hour over the incident before police and other officials from both districts pacified them and restored traffic movement.
A financial assistance of Rs 25,000 each was provided to the kin of the deceased, Patel added.
