CCL, CMPDI celebrate R-Day with zeal

The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with pride and zeal at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) headquarter in Ranchi. CCL, Chairman cum managing Director (CMD), PM Prasad hoisted the National Flag on the premises of the convention centre and wished everybody on the occasion while CMD, CMPDI, Manoj Kumar unfurled the National Flag and addressed the gathering.

On this occasion, CCL CVO SK Sinha, GMs and HoDs from headquarters, representatives of trade unions, employees and other stakeholders of the company attended the ceremony.

Prasad took the guard of honour and stated that every Indian Citizen should be indebted to the makers of our Constitution and the martyred freedom fighters. It is because of their sacrifices that we can celebrate this day. He further added that everybody should work collectively to contribute in Country’s development.

The CMD stated that COVID-19 pandemic still rattles the world. He appealed to everybody to get vaccinated and follow the social distancing norms, use sanitizers and wear masks. He said that over Two Lakh Sixteen thousand people have been inoculated in the nine centers of the company across five districts of Jharkhand. He further informed that the company has established “PSA Oxygen Plant” in Central Hospital Gandhinagar, Central Hospital Ramgarh and CHC Tandwa. He also praised the Doctors and medical team of the CCL hospitals for their services to the community.

He congratulated the employees of the company on their hard work and said that the coal warriors, through their persistence and relentless efforts have ensured that there is no dearth of coal in the power plants of the country. He added that compared to December 2020; the company has witnessed an increase of 7.5 per cent in coal production and 13 per cent in coal dispatch this year.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of 73th Republic Day CMD, CMPDI, Manoj Kumar said that Coal resources in proved category as on April 1, 2021 had reached 177 Billion Tonne from the level of 21 Billion tonne in the year 1976 mainly due to exploration work by CMPDI. Further during the current year 5.16 billion of coal resources has been added to the proved category through preparation of 11 GR and it is expected that about 6.5 billion tonnes of additional coal resources might be added to the proved category during the year, he added.

On this occasion Director (T/RD&T)RN Jha, Director (T/P&D) AK Rana and Director (T/CRD/ES) SK Gomasta along with  GMs, HoDs, Officers Association members and Trade Union Representatives were present and participated in the celebration.

The CMD said that CMPDI has conducted 761 Line Kilo Meter 2D-3D seismic surveys, achieving an increase of about 200 percent by 19th Jan 2022 against the annual target of 600 Line Kilometers. He said that CMPDI has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ECL, SECL and WCL for development of Coal Gasification Plants while signing of MoU with CCL is also under process.
