The Chhatra Congress on Saturday conducted its state executive committee meeting and Sankalp Shivir at the Congress Bhawan here and pledged to form college and university-level campus committees within a month’s time.
The meeting chaired by Chhatra Congress State president Yashir Nawaz resolved to take up issues like the Government decision to withdraw self-financing courses, price rise, unemployment, shortage of teachers, disrupted health facilities, law and order situation and rising crimes against women.
State Chhatra Congress observer Anulekha Bosa said a women’s conference would be organised and women student representation from Assembly segment to State leadership would be ensured.
The Chhatra Congress also decided to start a State-level movement demanding college and university students’ union elections.
Addressing the gathering, PCC president Sarat Pattanayak said the Chhatra Congress is the backbone of the Congress party. A strengthened Chhatra Congress would ensure Congress come back to power winning at least 90 Assembly seats.
