Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said that Chhattisgarh will be the second state to give the Community Forest Resources Right (CFRR) in a National Park area after Odisha.
This will provide more and more opportunities for employment to the forest dwellers, he said.
Baghel made the announcement at Mangalpur during a public meeting in the Jagdalpur Assembly constituency, an official communication said.
Baghel said 15 vehicles will be given to tribal youths to promote tourism in the Kotamsar region.
Already, the government was procuring 65 types of minor forest produce on support price including Kodo, Kutki and Ragi. Value addition is being done, he said.
The Chief Minister performed bhoomi pujan for an eco-cottage and presentation centre to be built at a cost of Rs.1.10 crore.
He said a Tirathgarh-Nature Trail has been made to preserve the beauty of the Tirathgarh Falls of the Kanger Valley.
