The District Press Club, Phulbani welcomed Phulbani Municipality Chairperson Smitarani Mohanty after she assumed office for the first time. Press Club president Sunil Pattnaik welcome her. Secretary Prasant Behera and working president Ashok Kumar Parida approached her for the development of the town.
The Chairperson put forth before the Press about her vision for the Phulbani Municipality. She said her priority is restoration of three ponds, a bus stop for school children, CCTV installation, RO water, construction of vending zone, illumination of street lights with tricolour strips, development of Narayani hill top as a tourist spot, construction of market complex, upgraded public toilets, proper parking place, installation of water tank, proper drainage system and specialised park for senior citizens, youths and kids.
She was very upset as the district administration did not turn up to listen to her proposals. She personally met the Collector Kandhmal regarding the encroachment of drain by the business establishments particularly during yatra time.
