CM fetes badminton legend Gopichand

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday felicitated the Indian badminton team chief coach Pullela Gopichand here.

Baghel presented him a state ‘gamchha’ and a memento of Bastar art. He told him about the sports facilities in the state.

Sanjay Mishra, General Secretary, Badminton Association of India, was also present.

Gopichand is a former badminton player who has won several top                  tournaments. After retiring, he moved to coaching and trained several prominent Indian players including Saina Nehwal, P. V. Sindhu, Sai Praneeth, Parupalli Kashyap, Srikanth Kidambi and Arundhati Pantawane.
