Following the day-light shootout and murder near JMM Chief cum Rajya Sabha member Shibi Soren’s residence on Thursday Chief Minister Hemant Soren summoned senior officials at his residence on Friday and chaired a high level meeting on maintaining law and order in the State.
The CM has instructed the police officers to maintain law and order in the State and prevent crime at any cost. In the meeting, the CM directed the officers that police should identify the professional criminals and deal with them strictly. Police should remain sensitive and ready to control crime in the State. He said that maintaining law and order is an important responsibility of the State Government. Due to the stricture of crime control and law and order, the pace of development works going on in the State will increase and people will get the real benefits of the schemes.
The CM expressed concern over the broad daylight firing incident at Morhabadi Maidan in Ranchi. He directed the police officials that the criminals involved in the Morhabadi incident should not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest legal-action should be ensured against the culprits.
State Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, DGP Neeraj Sinha, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister-cum-Principal Secretary of Home Department Rajiv Arun Ekka, Municipal Commissioner Mukesh Kumar, SSP Ranchi Surendra Kumar Jha and other officers were present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, after Thursday’s shootout, the Ranchi district administration has imposed prohibitory orders in the Morhabadi Ground area and has asked all street vendors to remove their shops within 24 hours.
Ranchi, Sadar, SDO, Utkarsh Gupta has issued the prohibitory orders effective from 6 PM on January 28. Any kind of congregation, procession, rally is already banned in the entire State due to Covid-19 third wave.
