Sunday, 19 June 2022 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday held a road show in Naraina village, seeking votes for his party candidate Durgesh Pathak for the Rajinder Nagar assembly bypolls.

During his road show, Kejriwal categorically said that If you will vote for the BJP; they will only pick fights and let no work happen. “BJP can't bring progress, no point voting for it; only AAP & its government can bring development to Delhi. If you will vote for the BJP; they will only pick fights and let no work happen.

Just like last time, vote for AAP, press the Jhaadu button, and make us win by double the margin. Some issues of Rajinder Nagar are in process of being resolved, I guarantee you that I will get all the work done personally,” he said.

The old to young, men and women, and supporters cutting across social strata, joined the roadshow as Kejriwal urged them to choose 'jhadoo' (broom) just like last time, vote for AAP, press the Jhaadu button, and make us win by double the margin. “In the past 7 years, Delhi has made remarkable progress in electricity and water supply; we transformed  schools, hospitals and built mohalla clinics and offered free bus transport to women," he said.

The locals gave an endearing welcome to their Chief Minister upon his arrival and greeted him with the 'Lage Raho Kejriwal' anthem. Some showered flower petals on the rally from their balconies, the others flocked to greet the CM with basanti patkas.

Kejriwal reminded people to exercise their electoral powers which is also an opportunity to further strengthen his government in discharging its responsibilities. He said, “Elections are due on 23rd June. I want to begin by thanking everybody for accepting us with open hearts in the previous elections where we won by a huge margin.

Criticising the BJP, Kejriwal said that the BJP for spreading hate and creating friction in the development process of the area. “There is no point in voting for BJP because the government is ours. We have to do the work. They are not interested in the development of the area. If you vote for them, they will only pick fights with me. That’s what they do the entire day. If you want the hate to spread, vote for them and if you want to see progress in your area, vote for us. I guarantee you that I will resolve all the pending issues of your area,” Kejriwal said.
