For this, a unit has been formed by merging various units related to women working in the commissionerate/district. This unit will work as a representative unit of the Women and Child Protection Organisation in its district.

He said that coordination would be established by the police department for the successful and effective implementation of various schemes being run for the uplift of women by the District Women and Child Protection Organisation unit and other departments like Women and Child Development, Education and Health etc.

For providing medical, judicial, psychological counseling services at the district level, coordination and cooperation would be ensured by this unit on behalf of the police department.

Awasthi said that according to the work in the district office of the Women and Child Protection Organisation, it had been decided to make four sections which would monitor cases related to women (Women Help Desk), Mahila Sahayata Cell (counseling centre), Mahila Samman Kosh (financial assistance), Women Commission and Women and Child Protection Organisation respectively.

It has been decided to give the charge of all these units to the deputy superintendent of police, additional superintendent of police, crime level officer available in the commissionerate/district.
