A married man who was in groom attire and was on marriage mandap on Friday to marry another woman without divorce from his first wife, was arrested and later forwarded to court on Friday evening. The first wife of the groom had lodged a complaint with police.
Anand Sharma(35), who works as an Accountant in a private firm here, had married to one Saraswati Malakar(30), a resident Malgodown area here under Uditnagar police station in 2013.
After the marriage, they were blessed with one daughter and one son. Their son had died. The daughter of Anand and Saraswati is now 6 years old. On Thursday, Saraswati came to know that her husband Anand was going to marry another woman at Hanuman Vatika and she went to the house of Anand on Thursday but the latter allegedly threatened her and did not listen to her.
Police stopped the marriage and picked up the groom and bride to police station. The bride was identified as Khusboo Mandal(30), a divorcee and a resident of Gopabandhupalli, Timber colony under Plant site police station here. While enquiring, police could come to know from Khusboo that, Anand had lied to her and her parents that he had divorced his first wife and therefore they had agreed, for her marriage with Anand.
