Court reserves verdict on Anubhav’s plea

Wednesday, 25 May 2022 | PNS | CUTTACK

Amid allegations and counter-allegations on the social media between estranged star couple Anubhav Mohanty and Varsha Priyadarshini, the Sadar SDJM Court here on Tuesday concluded hearings on the two petitions filed by Anubhav.

“The court reserved its verdict to be pronounced later. The petitions relate to providing alternative accommodation to Varsha and seeking her income proof,” informed Anubhav’s lawyer Alok Mohapatra.  Anubhav was present in the courtroom.

“Since Varsha is currently staying alone at Anubhav’s house under police protection, Anubhav’s parents are staying elsewhere as they are finding it difficult to stay under one roof where the young couple is always quarreling,” Mohapatra said, adding that Anubhav has assured the court that he would provide better accommodation to Varsha elsewhere in Cuttack city.

On the second plea, where Anubhav has sought income proof from Varsha, his counsel said it was necessary to know her income in order to counter the huge compensation amount sought by Varsha in another case. She has demanded a compensation of Rs 15 crore, an accommodation allowance of Rs 20,000 and a maintenance allowance of Rs 30,000 every month from Anubhav.
