Crime branch arrest 2 bookies for accepting online bets

Crime branch arrested two bookies accepting online betting, accused would also provide ID to others for betting. The police will block the two websites, Lakshmi-Batka Bull, on which stakes were placed, in the action police seized mobile phone and Rs 58,000 cash from the accused.

Additional DCP Crime Branch Shailendra Singh Chauhan said that information was received that a person was playing online betting on mobile in the street near Jain Temple on Jain Colony Housing Board and was part of online betting group.

The person was identified as Sheikh Salman (33), a resident of Ekta Nagar Jain Colony. On checking the mobile, an application was found named Lakshmi Batka Bull in which booking of staked was found. On inquiring about it, he said that he plays online betting on the website.

The accused told that earlier he used to play betting by writing on the betting slip. Due to this, there was a fear of getting caught by the police. A year ago, he met a boy named Bilal at Karond who asked him to feed betting by making online babeside. After that he generated an admin id password. Started booking online betting by adding customers. Money transactions are also done online. Police caught Bilal Sheikh from Pipariya Hoshangabad on Shaikh's information.

Bilal told during interrogation that he had got Sheikh generated the online ID password of the betting. He also gives him a share in the profits. Bilal told the police that he had studied till class 10 and due to not getting employment, he started betting online. Police are collecting information about further links of bookies from him.
