A cyclonic circulation is likely to form in the northeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal (BoB) during next 24 hours, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.
At present, the cyclonic circulation over west-central BoB off the Andhra Pradesh coast persists and extends up to 5.1 km above mean sea-level tilting southwestward with height.
As per the IMD, several parts of Odisha would experience light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm activities in next 24 hours.
On Sunday, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Heavy rainfall is also very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Baleswar, Koraput and Malkangiri.
On Monday, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
