Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay, a review meeting was held to review the MGNREGA scheme run by the Rural Development Department. Keeping in view the absurdity of monsoon in the light of the instructions of the state government in the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed to focus on providing employment to the labourers by starting at least five schemes in each panchayat.
She said that the construction work should be done on the basis of a model estimate, the amount would be made available from DMFT fund or from the amount of 15th finance. Under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, the Deputy Commissioner directed to restart the plantation work in the village from the point of view of greenery and environment.Under the Amrit Sarovar Yojana, she directed to set up boards related to the scheme by planting trees on the ridges of the renovated water bodies.she also said that the saplings should be supplied from the nursery of JSLPS.
Further, She directed to connect the beneficiaries on priority basis with Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Yojana and mobilize the people as well as to sanction sheds to the beneficiaries through MGNREGA scheme.Under the Ambedkar Awas Yojana, BDO was asked to bring seriousness regarding providing housing to the needy people.Verification of applications referred to housing from Janta Darbar in the district should be done on priority basis so that they can be sanctioned housing.
Apart from this, the people affected by the disaster, especially in Ichak, Katkamsandi and Tatijharia areas, should send the list of beneficiaries for Ambedkar housing to the district headquarters with clear recommendation of the houses damaged by the attack of wild elephants so that they can be given the benefit of Ambedkar housing.The Block Development Officers were directed to make proposals for Palash Mart, Didi Cafe etc. in the Block Headquarters building.The BDO's were instructed to assess the need of their works in the schools, health centres, anganwadi centers and schemes related to the problems of the general public and send the proposal to the district level so that they could be given the benefit of the facilities.District Planning Officer, Director DRDA, all Block Development Officers and District Panchayati Raj Officers were present in the meeting.
