As many as 20 students of the Larkipali Government ITI hostel in Balangir district fell sick after consuming meals in which a dead lizard had fallen on Tuesday.
All the sick students were admitted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College Hospital.
As per reports, several students of the hostel consumed the meal on Monday night. Late,r a student found a lizard in the meal.
Getting information, the hostel in-charge directed to dispose of the rest food items.
However, several students complained of severe stomach pain at late night following which they were admitted to the hospital immediately. The conditions of all the students are stated to be stable.
The hostel in-charge has ordered a probe into the incident.
“The unfortunate incident happened due to the negligence of the cooks and their associates. Strong action would be taken against them,” the hostel in-charge said.
