Drop in Covid cases, infection rate less than 2 %

Saturday, 29 January 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

The third wave of Covid-19 has started to decline in State as there has been a drop in cases in State. In the last 24 hours, out of 50,124 samples tested in the State, less than a thousand cases were found after 27 days. With the fast recovery of people, active cases in the State are continuously declining in Jharkhand. The number of active cases stands at 12076 in the State. There were 892 positive cases in the state in 24 hours, while the number of persons recovered is higher than fresh cases. In the state, in the last 24 hours 2719 people defeated Corona infections. Jharkhand's recovery rate stood at 305 per cent on Thursday. The positivity rate, the infection rate of the state was only 1.77 per cent with 892 cases being found on Thursday.

However, though there has been decline in fresh cases with fast recovery of patients, five persons lost their lives battling infection in three districts. The five casualties include one each from East Singhbhum, Dhanbad and Gumla district respectively. Out of 892 fresh cases which were reported on Thursday 248 infected people were found in East Singhbhum, while there are people from different districts including 127 in Simdega and 108 in Ranchi. Maximum 1361 people have recovered from Ranchi.

As there has been drop in active cases in Ranchi, the active cases decreased from 13000 to 4805 in 12 days. The decline in active cases can be gauged from the fact that the number of fresh cases too has declined. On Thursday, 108 new cases were found in Ranchi after 29 days, while about 13 times more infected coronas recovered from infection. That is, 1361 people recovered from infection.

The effect of semi-lockdown and the tough steps taken by the state government has started showing in the state. In Ranchi, from January 15, 2022, the number of patients recovering from corona infection started increasing. On January 27, 1361 people became healthy, while 108 corona infections have been found in the district.

As soon as the speed of the third wave of Corona slows down, the number of active cases in many districts of Jharkhand has reached less than 100, which is a matter of relief. On January 27, not a single corona infected has been found in Jamtara district, which is a matter of great relief. At the same time, if we talk about active cases, then there are 99 active cases left in Garhwa and 46 active cases in Jamtara.

Within 12 days, the active case reduced from 13000 to 4805. This is a very good sign. If people keep following the Covid guidelines, then the situation can become normal as before.
