Efforts made to improve agriculture, double income of farmers: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that all possible efforts are being made to improve the agriculture system and to double the income of the farmers in the state.

“Today. Haryana is the only state in the country to procure 14 crops at MSP. The state is also giving Rs 362, the highest price of sugarcane in the country. Compensation is being given for crop damage due to natural calamity and crops are being purchased through Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal,” the Chief Minister said while addressing the citizens at the 73rd Republic Day celebrations held at Police Lines Ground in Ambala.

He said that Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana has been started to give the protected price of horticulture crops and to compensate for the loss of natural calamity, Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana has been started. About 85,000 farmers have been connected with 639 FPOs for grading, storage and marketing of fruits and vegetables.

On the similar lines of Kisan Credit Cards, Pashudhan Kisan Credit cards are being made for livestock farmers. Mera Pani-Meri Virasat scheme has also been launched to promote crops consuming less water, he said. The Chief Minister said that in order to digitize rural areas, digital data of 6197 Gram Panchayats has been made available on the Gram Darshan Portal.

On the same lines, Shahar Darshan Portal is also being started soon to solve the problems of cities. SVAMITVA scheme has been started to make the villages Lal Dora free and give ownership of the property, he said.

Khattar said that about 90 percent of the work has been completed under the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojana in rural areas.  Haryana Smart Gram Development Authority has been formed to develop facilities in the villages at par with the cities.

Under the Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon scheme, 24 hours electricity is being provided in about 77 percent of the state's 5,487 villages, he added.
