Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday laid emphasis on using the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMF) fund for essential services.
He said the allocation of mineral items should be done in the affected districts on the basis of the prescribed ratio.
Baghel was holding a review meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Trust’s Monitoring Committee here, an official communication said.
He added that the allocation of funds should be guaranteed for the newly formed five districts. It would boost development works which needs to be completed with priority.
A cell has been constituted for social audit of DMF income and expenditure.
Baghel underlined that the fund should not be used in hosting fairs and other local events organized by the district administration.
The departmental budget should be used for purchase of health and education related equipment sans DMF, he said. The purchase of equipment for Swami Atmanand Excellence Schools is permitted.
There should be no procurement of vehicles for official use but ambulances and vehicles to transport dead bodies can be purchased, he added.
The Chief Minister asked officers to take necessary action to vacate the stay order imposed by court in the diamond mine of Gariaband district. It would open avenues to run the diamond mine in a proper mode.
The Secretary to the Chief Minister, Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, said since the formation of the District Mineral Trust, an amount of Rs.10,000 crore has been approved for 70,000 works. Of this, 43,000 works have been completed.
