Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said it is the responsibility of the government to provide basic facilities to every citizen. Officers need to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last mile.
He was holding a Kabirdham district level review meeting as part of his Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan (direct public interaction) at Pandariya assembly constituency, an official communication said.
Baghel said department officials should resolve public complaints at the earliest.
Planned working is a better mode to make available basic facilities like education, health, water, roads and electricity to all, he said.
He appreciated officers and staff of the Health Department of Kabirdham for their work during the Covid-19 pandemic apart from running the training centre round the clock.
Baghel underlined the need to give wider publicity to government schemes. He said that all bad roads should be rectified and new roads built in a planned manner.
He asked officials to take stern action on complaints related to illegal liquor. The police were told to crack down against gambling and betting.
Baghel said a probe had been ordered after complaints that some patwaris sought money from farmers to execute government work.
On complaints of power cuts in tribal areas, he asked the Electrical Engineer to fix the problem.
