Exhibition and sale of Gond paintings at Tribal museum

The 28th Shalaka Exhibition cum sale of Gond paintings is being organised at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum.

An exhibition-cum-sale of paintings of Gond community artist Jayaprakash Dhurve is is evoking a goid response.

Notably, with a view to providing a sturdy platform to the tribal painters of the state for photo exhibition and sale of paintings by Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, every month exhibition cum sale of any one tribal painter in 'Likhandra Exhibition Gallery' is organized under Shalaka.

 The 28th Shalaka  Exhibition will continue till August 30. Dhurve depicts nature, surroundings, animals and birds, man and his activities through color lines. The rhythmicity of his paintings simply attracts attention.

Artist Jaiprakash was born in the year 1997 in village Patangarh of Dindori, a Gond dominated area of ??Madhya Pradesh. Childhood was spent in the village and came to the city with the parents at a very young age, where the parents started doing jobs or other work with the aim of improving life.

After coming to the city, Jayaprakash's parents stayed with the acquaintances of their village for some time and after retiring from the day's work in the evening, did some painting work with the companions and many times they also helped their familiar Gond painters to complete their paintings.

During this he himself would learn the nuances of painting. This process continued and the painter Jayaprakash also started marking Gond tribal stories.
