Beneficiaries of the Odisha State Food Security Act (SFSA) will get an additional 5 kg of rice each free of cost for the next three months.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday made an announcement in this regard. The decision will benefit 9.05 lakh persons of 2.92 lakh families in the State.
The extra rice of 5 kg will be given per beneficiary for the months of October, November and December. The State Government will spend Rs 49 crore to provide 13, 575 metric tonnes of rice to the beneficiaries.
