Four arrested with cannabis

Chhattisgarh Police on Friday arrested four   persons and seized 44.90 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 8.98 lakhs while transporting it to Uttar Pradesh from Odisha.

Kabirdham Additional Superintendent of Police Maisha Thakur Rawate said Netrapal Singh, Mahendra Singh, Deepak Nayak and Rinku Nayak have been taken into custody.

While Mahendra Singh is from Uttar Pradesh, the other three are residents of Odisha, she said.

Police intercepted a truck near the                     Raipur-Jabalpur highway and seized the drugs stuffed in three gunny bags and  hidden in a chamber behind the driver’s seat, the officer added.
