A full-dress rehearsal of the Independence Day was held at the Police Parade Ground here on Saturday. Similar events were held in all district headquarters of Chhattisgarh.
As part of the rehearsal, the Chief Minister’s security officer hoisted the national flag. He inspected the parade and took salute at the march past.
Raipur Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure and Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agarwal reviewed the preparations, an official communication said.
At the main function to be held here, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will unfurl the national flag on August 15 at 9 am and will take the salute at the parade.
Thirteen platoons will march under the leadership of Commander Gaurav Ram Pravesh at the Police Parade Ground. The Second-in-Commander will be Manoj Kumar Mandavi.
The Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal, men and women platoons of Chhattisgarh Armed Forces, Chhattisgarh Police, Municipal Army, National Cadet Corps and the Police Band will take part. Baghel will honour 43 police officers with medals and decorations. Indian Police Medal, Police Gallantry Medal, Police Medal, Correctional Service Medal, Union Home Minister Medal and State Level Awards will be given.
Awards will also be given to three best Gauthans. Baghel will award Kesra of Patan block of Durg district, Chattod of Arang block of Raipur district and Daunde Harangarh Gauthan of Koylibeda block of Kanker district.
