Habibganj police arrested a burglar and goldsmith who helped in disposing of burgled jewelry and recovered valuables worth Rs 12 lakh; accused confessed 8 incidents of burglary and thefts.
Habibganj police acting on a tip off arrested Faheem alias Bhaiyyu, who was roaming in Arera Colony with the intention of theft.
He revealed thefts and burglaries in Habibganj, Shahpura area. He revealed 8 incidents of jewelry burglary and stealing and selling to the goldsmith Saif alias Saifullah.
Based on the information Saif was taken into custody and interrogated, he agreed to buy the stolen valuables from the accused Faheem.
After interrogation, 3 burglaries of Habibganj police station, 3 of T.T. Nagar and 2 of Shahpura police station were revealed. The accused were arrested and presented in the court .
Accused Faim alias Bhaiyyu has been arrested by Hanumanganj, Ashoka Garden, MP Nagar, Jahangirabad, Gautam Nagar and Gandhinagar police in the past in about two dozen criminal cases of theft and burglary.
Accused targeted a deserted house locked in the night after finding that lights were turned off and newspapers lying outside.
The accused is addicted to drugs, due to which he commits the crime while intoxicated at the time of the incident. The accused for evading arrest commits the crime alone. He used to sell the stolen goods to his acquaintance goldsmith at half price.
