Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Thursday said that in the last 100 hours, more than 9000 youth have applied for jobs on the portal of the Labor Department.
The law that reserves 75 per cent of jobs in the private sector in the state offering a salary of less than 30,000 rupees a month only to locals came into effect on January 15, Dushyant said while talking to the mediapersons in Rewari district.
He also called upon the unemployed youth to get registered on the portal so that they can be linked with employment under the new law. Dushyant said that other states of the country are following the policies of Haryana Government. Four states of the country have so far contacted the Labor Department of Haryana to implement its policies to provide employment, he added. Notably, the new Startups and new IT/ITES companies have been given exemption for two years under the 'Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020'.
The State Government, in a clarification order issued stated that new Startups and new IT/ITES for purpose of this exemption means employer who has established or has commenced its operation within a period of two years, after commencement of this Act. Short-term (45 days) work has also been exempted from reservation law. Vacancies, which are being filled up through promotion or transfer or by absorption of surplus staff of any unit of same employer in state, have been given exemption.
Also any class, post and category of employment, as may be notified by the government from time to time, where the local candidates of desired skill, qualification or proficiency required in such employment are not available has also been exempted, the order stated.
