Haryana on Sunday clinched the first gold medal in weightlifting competition in the ongoing 36th national games. In the 81 kg weight category, Deepak Lather won the gold medal by lifting a remarkable 170 kg lift. “Haryana’s daughters are performing outstanding in the National Games. In the cycling track event, Taniksha Khatri won gold and Prachi Lohan brought laurels to the state by winning a silver medal. Apart from this, Shiva Narwal won a silver medal in the 10 m pistol. Haryana girls’ team also won a silver medal in double sculls rowing,” said a spokesperson.
