Haryana CM’s residence in Chandigarh to be known as ‘Sant Kabir Kutir’: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister’s official residence at Chandigarh will now be known as ‘Sant Kabir Kutir’, announced Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while addressing a gathering during state-level Sant Kabir Das Jayant Samaroh in Rohtak on Sunday.

Khattar also announced a provision of the cadre-wise reservation during the promotion to the government employees on the pattern of the Centre besides providing library facilities at educational institutes and dharamshalas in the state.

“Even if a single room is available in all the educational institutes, dharamshalas belonging not only to the Scheduled Castes (SCs) but also to the backward classes (BCs), the Education Department will make arrangements for the library. Besides, 75 percent subsidy will be given for setting up five kilowatt (KW) solar plants in dharamshalas of all communities,” said the Chief Minister.

Khattar maintained that talks would be held with the Centre for the arrangement of reservation in NITs and IITs. Any project worth up to Rs 51 lakh would be made by the government on five and a half acres of land of the society if an educational institution demands it, he said.

He added that along with this, railway fare will be given to everyone who wants to travel to Varanasi, the birthplace of Sant Kabir. At the same time, any one institution in the state will be named after Sant Kabir.

The Chief Minister said: “We are committed to Antyodaya according to the principles of Sant Kabir. His teachings and thoughts are relevant even today.  The all-round development of the weaker sections will be the true tribute to him.”

He appealed to the people of the State to forget the discrimination of caste and creed and take a pledge to love mankind. He said that ‘Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman and Prasar Yojana’ has been started by the State Government, under which, the programmes are organized at the state level on the birth anniversary of sants and great personalities. The Government has also organized state-level celebrations on the birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, and the prakash parv of Guru Nanak Dev, and Guru Gobind Singh.  Similarly, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, 'Parakram Diwas', the birth anniversary of Sant Kabir Das ji is also a part of this episode.

“The Prime Minister gave the basic mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas’.  Similarly, we also took the pledge of ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanavi Ek’. Our Government is committed to empower every poor, oppressed, and underprivileged person. The government has launched a campaign to reach the last person standing in line,” he said.

He added that jobs are being given on the basis of merit in the state, 570 Antyodaya Mela Days were organized at 156 places, under which employment has been given to more than 48,000 people and loans have been given to 4,037. Now, the third phase of these melas is going to start.

 

FREE PILGRIMAGE TO SANT KABIR'S BIRTHPLACE — UP's VARANASI

Khattar also announced a free pilgrimage for the people of the state to Sant Kabir and Guru Ravidas’ birthplace in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi.

Khattar said that the railway fare of those undertaking the pilgrimage from the state to Sant Kabir's birthplace in Varanasi will be reimbursed. “Varanasi is the birthplace of Sant Kabir as well as of Guru Ravidas. Those who want to undertake pilgrimage, their railway fare will be reimbursed,” he said, adding that a health institution or University in the state will be named after Sant Kabir.

Khattar said that Sant Kabir, a Bhakti Movement saint, was a strong supporter of religious unity. He gave the message of love and brotherhood to mankind. His followers are promoting his ideals even today, he said.

He said that the BJP-led government is committed to empower every poor, oppressed, and underprivileged person. Children belonging to the SC are being provided scholarships as well as free coaching to help them prepare for competitive exams, he said, adding that unlike the previous regime, our government gives government jobs on merit basis and there is no favouritism.
