Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya on Friday called upon the Universities to establish ‘Job Placement Centres’ within the University campuses by connecting with System Application Products (SAP) to prepare the students for employment and placements in various sectors.
Dattatraya, interacting with Chaudhary Devi Lal University’s Vice-Chancellor Ajmer Singh Malik on Friday, also inquired about the academic activities going on in the University.
He pointed out that there is a need to focus on research and practical in Universities, thus the varsities’ laboratory, where the work of high level research is done, should be update. “There is a need to strengthen the Incubation and Innovation Centres on the University campuses which would facilitate the research scholars to get their products patented and taken to the market. This will strengthen the idea of local to global and will be an important tool for self-reliant India,” he said.
Dattatraya said that Universities should also ensure that no meritorious student is deprived of higher education due to paucity of resources. According to the National Education Policy, it is absolutely necessary to include human and moral values in education, so that students will be aware of self-reliance, discipline, morality and self-employment and a prosperous society will be created, he added.
