Saturday, 03 December 2022 | PNS | /Chandigarh

Haryana Government will celebrate the ‘Krishna Utsav’ on the similar lines of Gita Mahotsav at Karmayogi Dhara. “The International Gita Mahotsav (IGM)-2022 has left an indelible mark on the world stage.  Now, the tourists will get a glimpse of Lord Krishna’s leelas with the message of karma he preached at Gita Sthali in Kurukshetra,” said the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday.

He said that the cooperation of all the social and religious organizations of the city will also be sought to celebrate this holy festival.

“Over the years, the IGM has gained immense popularity across the globe. It was in 2016 when Haryana, for the first time, had successfully organized IGM. Since then, gradually this festival has been successfully celebrated on foreign soil too. Now continuing the same tradition, the IGM- 2023 would be celebrated in Australia,” he said.

Khattar pointed that earlier, the IGM has been successfully celebrated in Mauritius, London, and Canada.

“Seeing the enthusiasm of the tourists visiting IGM-2022, the Government has decided to make an arrangement for the visitors so that they can get a glimpse of Lord Krishna’s leelas in an attractive manner in Kurukshetra,” he said.

Underlining that Lord Krishna has a special relation with Haryana, the Chief Minister said: “Krishna Utsav will be celebrated on the lines of Geeta Mahotsav, in which glimpses of Lord Shri Krishna’s childhood will be shown. Krishna Avatar and his Rasleela and musical art will be displayed through tableaux during the Mahotsav. Through this festival, people will get a chance to see the real aspects of Lord Krishna’s life closely and will be able to imbibe his ideals in their lives.”
