The last and final phase of panchayat polls witnessed highest voter turnout in the district with 76.5 percent of voters coming out to vote here to elect panchayat representatives .This was highest in all four phases.
Voting was held for electing representatives of 66 panchayats located in Nirsa and Govindpur blocks on Friday.
According to available reports during the first phase of polls 73.65 per cent voting was witnessed while it was 68.5 per cent and 74.14 rper cent espectively during second and third phases of polls.
Today voting started in a peaceful manner with voters queued up for voting since early morning . Individually, Govindpur witnessed 78.39 per cent polling at Nirsa the turnout was 74.62 per cent .
The counting of votes would be held on May 31 along with the votes of phase three polls at three different locations in district.During phase three Agyarkund,Kaliasol and Baliapur blocks had gone for polls.
No untoward incident has been reported from any location .
