The Industries and Commerce Association (ICA) has sent an SoS to chief minister Hemant Soren for initiating steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply to industries based on industrial belt of Dhanbad, Govindpur, Ramgarh besides others that depend on power supply from Damodar Valley Corporation ( DVC) via JBVNL owned by state government .
Association president BNSingh in a letter to CM claims that industrial units are facing hours of power cuts that range from 10 to 15 hours in a day forcing the workforce to sit idle. This is the condition while industries pay power bills on time .If the situation remains the same it would be impossible to run industries ,he added.
The situation on the domestic front is the same as domestic consumers too face long hours of power cuts and at same time face inflated bills on month end . MOST surprising is that even the common man is paying his bill on time but not getting regular power.
Singh demanded from the state government to hold talks with DVC for improving power supply in its command area districts .
It's worth mentioning here that seven districts of Jharkhand including Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Koderma, Hazaribagh Chatra and Giridih depend on power supply for all purposes on DVC. Very often when the Corporation fails to get cash for its power supply, it regulates supply up to long hours ranging between eight to ten hours in a day. In lieu the JBVNL too regulates supply to its customers both industrial.and domestic that crosses twelve hours in a day.
