IIID ‘Showcase 2.0' inaugurated, 120 participate

IIID Showcase 2.0 Expo organized by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) Bhopal Regional Center inaugurated at BHEL Dussehra ground on Thursday.

The four-day long exhibition was inaugurated by Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang and Mayor Malti Rai along with presence of esteemed guests. The second edition of 'Showcase 2.0' is a tremendous amalgamation of Ideas, Innovation, Imagination & Design on the theme ‘Collaborative Footprints in Design’.

On the first day of expo, two workshops were organized by bonsai artist Miss Anita Bajpai and Ravindra Singh. In the first workshop, participants were taught about 'Vertical Penjing' on the theme "The Building is never green until the plants arrive". At the same time, in the second workshop, the participants were told about interior and exterior plantscaping. A feature film was also screened on the day. About 60 interior designers and architect students from Bhopal registered their participation in the event.

Special discussion programs by the country's eminent interior designers and architects will be organised for the students associated with the respective fields in the coming days.

There are workshops, panel discussions scheduled for four days in the event which will be presided over by eminent interior designers and architects for the students associated with the stream, which aims to bring the interior designers architects across the country on a common platform. Besides this, an art gallery will also be curated by renowned artist Akhilesh Verma in collaboration with 100 artists from Madhya Pradesh on the theme 'Anek Se Ek'.

Each exhibit stall in the expo is a master piece in itself. The objective of this exhibition is to bring together interior designers and people from the architecture field from across the country on a single platform, where more than 100 exhibitors are exhibiting their products including flooring, bath-ware, lighting, furniture, furnishings, wood industry, home automation, garden furniture, kitchens, hardware, windows and natural stones are included.Ravisha Merchant, Interior Designer & Chairperson of IIID Bhopal Regional Centre said that the second edition of 'Showcase 2.0' is a convergence  of Ideas, Innovation, Imagination & Design on a single platform with great opportunities.

A special competition for budding interior designers and architects is also slated during this four day exhibition. Projection, building design, landscaping, interior designing etc. will also be held in the exhibition, said Ravisha Merchant.This event is sponsored by the INIT and Kerovit by Kajaria. The co-sponsors of the event are Jaquar Group, Oyster, RAK Ceramics, Gaurav Ply, ebco, D-Decor SSK Furnishing, Patel Timber & Plywoods, Hybec Lighting, Interior Insights, Ply Park, AIS Windows and Qutone.
