After successful implementation of National Dairy
Plan (NDP)-I, the Government of India has considered the OMFED
among five leading Milk Federations for implementation of the NDP-II
project.
In this regard, a workshop was organised jointly by NDDB and OMFED
here on Thursday for preliminary discussions with stakeholders before
finalisation of the second phase implementation of the NDP. The
workshop was inaugurated by State Principal Secretary of Department of
F&ARD R Raghu Prasad.
Among others, OMFED Managing Director Ashish Chandra Sinha
participated in the discussions on development of the dairy sector in the
State by increasing the milk production, per capita income of dairy
farmers, milk procurement while giving thrust on marketing of milk and
milk products.
World Bank's Agricultural and Commercial representative Adarsh
Kumar joined through videoconference.
