IWCS Ranchi celebrates Inner Wheel Day
Inner Wheel Day was celebrated under the chairmanship of Neeta Narayan, President and Secretary Mala Srivastava of Inner Wheel Club Swarnrekha Ranchi District 325, following Covid 19 protocol on Monday. January 10 is celebrated as International Innerwheel Day by all the members of Inner Wheels across the world. A wheel chair was provided by the club to a disabled old lady living in Rugdighada, Madhukam Basti near Uphaar Cinema Bhawan, Ratu Road. As many as 51 blankets and 51 packets of sanitary napkins were distributed in the basti. The remaining blankets were given to the lepers on the roads near Kali Mandir and Hanuman Mandir (Main Road) and Pahari Mandir and Durga Mandir. As many as 51 bags were also distributed from the Inner Wheel Cloth Bag Bank in Basti. The club put up hoardings at the prime location of the city under the cervical cancer awareness campaign. Club's Vice President Namrata Kumar celebrated Innerwheel Day by cutting a cake and releasing a balloon. Two member Satinder Chadha and Varsha Singh were established as new members. Poonam Sakhuja, Neeta Shekhar, Ambuja Sharan, Club CCC Deepa Chauhan and Sushma Sinha were involved in making the programme a success.
NPTEL Awareness online Workshop held by XISS
The online National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) Awareness Workshop was organized by Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) in association with Kumarguru College of Technology, Coimbatore on Tuesday. The introductory session began with a welcome address by Dr Amar Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS, Ranchi, who spoke about how online learning has enhanced for students and that the government has proposed NPTEL Exams for evaluation. Dr Saravanan D, Principal of Kumarguru College of Technology, in his Principal Address spoke about how students are taking the NPTEL Course as a source of their motivation and how it's also helpful for faculty members. Guest speaker Dr Shib Shankar Das, IIT Kharagpur, spoke about the vision, mission, and objectives of NPTEL and how it's creating awareness to every student in the form of online learning. Towards the end of the session, a question-and-answer round was organized post which Dr Madhumita Singha, Associate Professor, XISS concluded the workshop with the vote of thanks.
