Till a permanent building of the regional centre of National Defense University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, to be established in the campus of Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences, Lucknow, is constructed, the building of Integrated Special Secondary School identified in Dr Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, will be transferred to run the NDU centre for three years.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Home Department and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities at the Lok Bhavan here on Thursday, regarding the use of campus free of cost for three years.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Director, Department of Persons with Disabilities and Empowerment, Satya Prakash Patel, campus director of National Defence University, incharge, Neeraj Kumar, Special Secretary (Home) Rajesh Kumar Rai were present on this occasion.
It is noteworthy that the Indian National Defence University was established in 2020 by the Indian Parliament for study and research on important subjects like availability of skilled personnel, training and internal-external security to prepare professionals to work in national security agencies and police service. The purpose of this university is to prepare trained youth for the security forces.
